Running Through The NightRunning through the night used to be his thing.
He'd run for hours trying to get rid of everything.
The alcohol, the voices, the memories.
He'd run and run until his legs couldn't carry him any longer.
And he would fall to the ground and stay there.
He would gasp for air and shake in the ice cold nights.
He would cry and scream and bleed.
But the scratches would never hurt enough to outweigh the pain in his chest.
The screams would never reach anyone but his own demons.
The tears would only hit the ground and disappear.
They'd leave him behind, so frail and broken.
Only the night knew of the struggles he had.
And that the enemy was himself all along.
Yeah, running through the night used to be his thing.
But things can change so suddenly.
Even though he stopped running, the night still knew.
But she kept his secrets safe.
It Must Be Her EyesIt must be her eyes
They lock me in seconds millennium-long
With colours of the sea when the wind is strong
As deep as the ocean on a stormy night
Yet alluring and hypnotic as they glow so bright
It must be her smile
Comforting and calm, yet somehow shy
Takes me up high in a midsummer sky
And when she smiles the butterflies rise
They carry me off into the skies
It must be her
Gentle and fragile but standing strong
Her siren voice stuns me with powerful song
The way she acts and the way she is
I think what I'm trying to say is this:
It must be this feeling
I cannot stop this, not even by choice
It must be her and her beautiful voice
Nothing else matters, not pain nor my cries
It must be her smile, it must be her eyes
